Spongebob voice actors overdub Classic movies

This is just about the greatest thing I've seen this year. Perfectly matched, true-to-script overdubs of classic movies by Spongebob's voice actors.

Christine says:

This is HILARIOUS!! Spongebob voiceovers of scenes from Casablanca, Singing in the Rain, and the Godfather. One of the highlights of the Annie Awards last Friday night was a small video concocted by the cast of Spongebob Squarepants (M.C. Tom Kenny, along with presenters Rodger Bumpass, Carolyn Lawrence and Bill Fagerbakke), created to prove they shouldn’t be stereotyped simply as Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward and Sandy.

Patrick never sounded better!
PLEASE do The Wrath of Khan! Or Spartacus! Or Star Wars!!!

This is beautiful. Even though I haven't watched SpongeBob in years, this travels unpaved roads in the realm of comedy, transcending television and transforming clandestine classics, creating clever and truly tangible craziness.

Or something, anyways.

As awesome as this video was, I'll be refreshing this page regularly to see the submissions in the comments.

Here's my favourite LOTR overdub:

Seeing the Voice Acting panel at the San Diego Comic-Con is always a blast, for people who like this stuff. They read entire radio scripts, like War of the Worlds (with the voice of Brain of course), and it's always astounding.

wow I laughed so much through all of that, that I had to replay it just to hear what my laughter drowned out.

Marlon Brando is smiling right now!

That was hilarious! Although if they really did it to prove they shouldn't be typecast, they probably shouldn't use the same voices from Spongebob...

There needs to be a series of these. If nothing else they might help turn kids onto the classics, or give a new experience to the overly familiar. Between redubs and commentaries my case for a What's Up, Tigerlily?/MST3K/Pop-Up Video-style network grows ever stronger.

It should be noted that most of these voice actors perform multiple roles, not just on Spongebob but other cartoons. Tom Kenny alone could probably do 75% of the male voices.

One of the great things about this is that you start to laugh as soon as you see the movie title.

For me, Tom Kenny will always be stereotyped as Binky the Clown.

Meh. It's been done before, and better.

The funniest was Patrick's voice coming out of the blonde woman's mouth. Great stuff.

Well personally I find Palindromic's comment tediously derivative of great jaded postings of the past.

But I liked Gary's Casablanca cameo.

o my god
I can die happy now (not kidding)

Fantastic!

Also, I didn't know Tom Kenny was Binky The Clown, though I should have known.

HILARIOUS.

HA! I thought that was going to be stupid. It was, but it was also hilarious and that made up for it.

Not only have I found my new favorite thing on the Internet, I have now found my new favorite comment on the Internet.

I left it open, so I still have it. I used CamStudio to make a copy, the video isn't as good but the audio is great. I'd re-up it on YouTube, but I don't know why they removed it and wouldn't want to get in trouble. If anyone can answer that one, I'd share for sure.

Jeez I can't seem to see that on collegehumor at all. Doesn't load for me.

WTF is up with this missing all of a sudden? Someone @ viacom not have a sense of humor or something?

This is dumb, obvious, and boring. Much like the old TV show *Fractured Flickers*, which was dumb, obvious, and boring.

Don't people have any standards any more? Don't you guys ever distinguish between something that is actually funny and something that just bears a superficial similarity to things that are funny? Someone should have had the courage to think of this idea, execute it, and then realize it was dumb and not publish it.

*Mystery Science Theater 3000* was funny. This just isn't. Where's the creativity? Oh -- sorry I asked, is it considered rude to ask the obvious?

They have to do Citizen Cane. Patrick as Charles Foster Kane would be a classic. I would watch the movie endlessly if he were the voice.

Meh. Its not the same without Clancy "Hadley" Brown. He'd be perfect for the godfather clip.

One of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Meh right on back to Palindromic and Clabber Grrl -- you don't know funny.
This is funny.
